One morning at the Brunch, I was chatting with my friend Robyn for coffee, panqueques and quiche about the design process in our homes. We were comparing notes about the speed and success that we were (or we were not) experiencing with the rooms together. He is making great progress formulating the core of his design style, so sometimes his wait is not to buy some of the uncertainty, or what he obtains does not work as well as he thought.
My holes can be indecision simply because there are many areas to concentrate! As I said: “How do you decide whether laser focuses on a space and” finish “that space, or expand your approach and buy things from your hunting list as they appear and slowly that the whole house rises to the image it points?”

When Matt & I were remodeling the kitchen, it was easy to concentrate only on what that room needed, since we had a deadline to finish. It didn’t matter if something attractive appeared on the market, the second -hand store or the antique store that would have been perfect for another room ~ I was only buying things for the kitchen. This limited approach was worth it with cohesive decoration items and a kitchen finished with the budget already time!
With my visit with Robyn in mind, this conversation between Lisa Bass from Casa de Campo in Boone and Amanda of Honestly, Marie designs Sand some light on this common dilemma:
Lisa asked Amanda: “Your home looks very cured, and each piece is combined as a magazine. Do you have any advice to collect things for your home so you don’t look messy or as a garage sale?”

Obtain traction from clarity:
Amanda replied: “One way to find his style is to look back in his Pinterest boards, there will be many similar things in those photos. He can resume those things he really feels attracted. When he finds what he likes, it makes it easier to buy. Also, when he wants a home to be collected, which should be patient, which should be fine. Eventually, you will find it;
“I think it’s really knowing what your style is, and that can sometimes be difficult for people to specify. It took me time to solve it.” – Amanda
“When I go shopping and looking for certain things, I have this execution list in my head of things that I would love to find someday. I know that I will eventually find this, or find it. It just takes time.” – Amanda

Here is a collection of articles that I did several years ago to decorate autumn. For one reason or another, all these articles, except the books and the Brown Transfers Launcher, have left our house. The pieces that remained are central to my design style and has taken time and experimentation to discover this. Knowing my central design style, the things that I will not tire, have given me great clarity in the creation of cohesive and timeless rooms in our home.
FOCUS:
Once traction wins through clarity with its style (and the colors of the house palette), you can really concentrate on gathering spaces. To concentrate even more on what really pleases your unique design eye here is another valuable advice of Amanda:
“I think what helped is when I closed the HGTV programs, and stopped paying close attention to social networks or other blogs, it is not that I do not find those resources useful, but sometimes when we look too many things, we lose the notion of what we really love. “ – Amanda
This is an effective advice! Inspirator Pinterest and Instagram encounter, but I am also gathering So many good ideas and taking small measures on any of them. To dig deeply when creating a real room and making good and informed decisions sail for their books. Soaking the details of a delicious design book will probably generate the result with which he will be happy in the coming years.

Here is a recent example in our house. I loved this image of the book entitled: Miranda Innes’s field decorator For a long time. It is my favorite image in the book! You have seen these dishes and dishes in our kitchen for years. I also have them in other places in the house. Looking at this photo again motivated me to try a plate wall in our kitchen. I love the result! If you want to read more of that publication and see the video, click here.

ABSTRACT: Winning focus and traction in your design options comes from being familiar with your central design style/colors and keeping them focused as you create your home. It’s much easier to buy and buy with confidence! In addition, their pieces will be mixed and will remembered effortlessly throughout their home. I hope you found that these thoughts are useful while growing the art of the home! Until next time
Take care,
Rachel
