We have had a pleasant days this spring, mixed with the usual cloudy and rainy moments, but I thought it would show you some glance on the front and rear covers. until now This season, together with what we have been doing and what follows for our outdoor spring projects (it is a long list that will definitely go to Summer Ha).
There is always much to do outside this time of year. But with my husband’s injury in his hand a week ago (on which I shared in me Instagram stories and Newsletter) we have had to stop our progress. We will restore the expectations of what we will achieve, at least in the coming weeks. Some seasons are like that and you just have to “pivot”! At the beginning of the season, we were considering an update of the front courtyard this summer, but it seems more likely to wait another year so that we can focus on more pressing projects.

Our lavender will probably need to be removed at some point so that we can start again with new plants, they do not last forever, but so far it still looks quite well (you can see it in front of the grass).
Soon lavender will bloom and fill the air with the most refreshing aroma!
Fortunately, my dad continues to cut the grass and my parents do a lot around the patio, so it is a team effort. Another reason why we were excited to reduce the size here was because keeping up with our big patio took so long (and so many plants!). We loved it, but in many ways it is really good to have these more compact spaces (and there is still much to do). In addition, there are so many parks here that we can enjoy without being your caregivers.

At this moment we are anxious for the flowers that open in our peon, roses and hortensias, once we have a little more sun!
I am so surprised at how good our peonies in the pots! I feel that nothing we planted so far has prospered (still), but these are happy as they can be. They are doing our Outdoor rocking chairs Look so small compared! By the way, we have These covers for rocking companies That worked very well for winter.

Everything we did last year was to plant them in the pots, and left them all winter, and now they are huge! I am also very excited by all flowers. We only had a peony plant on the floor that had many flowers in Seattle, the rest would only get one or two. I hope the rain does not interfere with the flowers, but I hope they open in the next two weeks!
Outdoor project 1: Install plant and peon supports
Last week I got these 24 inches Plant supports for peonies They fit directly into the pots.
They come in a set of 12 and used three supports in each. You really can’t see them and we can get them after they finish blooming, so I think they will be perfect to hold the heaviest flowers. You can also use them in the garden for any type of plant if your peonies were already blooming. Installing them is a simple outdoor project.

Eden Climber’s roses also seem to be thriving so far this spring without my help. I am sure that I must fertilize and prune, I need to see some videos. 🙂 Share your advice with me if you believe these!
Outdoor Spring Project 2: Add Tangles
I bought another convoluted (This Amazon convoluted) This week to help guide climbers on the other side of the door so as not to climb our railing.
We will see how that is going: I have the feeling that they want to do their thing! The roses will probably be maintained by the plant cable, but I love the appearance of the entangled. They add a lot of character.
A reason why I think these plants are thriving is the whole sun on this cover, especially this side of the roof where I put the peonies. They love it! I really hesitated to install a terrace here because it was the most sunny place that we would have left after the small addition of the cabin entered, but I obtained a vision of plants in pots and that inspired me. Now I am looking forward to planting more pots!
Another advantage of this deck is that it is far from the small creatures such as bunnies and big ones like deer. Fortunately they do not appear on the deck, at least so far. We thought that we finally had our back backyard of the deer, but, unfortunately, one entered again and was caught happily eating our hydrangeas. I guess I was determined to enter and enjoy the party! My poor hydrangeas. So, we have to solve the entry point if we want to have the opportunity to prosper plants in our patio. What do we do :). Please, deer.
Once our roses and peonia flourish, I will take photos of the backyard to show you how everything is progressed it’s not Still still, ha).

During the next few weeks, we plan to make some simple updates on the posterior and lateral porches, so I am excited to try some fresh pieces that fit the spaces.
Outdoor Spring Project 3: Update a porch
We did some update on the porch of the main door last week! It was fun to bring some spring through the main door (although for some of these photos it was quite bleak.
All sources appear in the graph at the end of the publication.
You can too Watch the Porch video here on Instagram (and see Finnegan).
If you come to watch the video, could you? Give the reel in the heart and greet in the comments? I would love to see my pull Buddies there.

Did you know that we have several porches / mallets? All are quite compact of size (like the interior, the “rooms” are not huge), so it is taking to discover what fits and how we want to use them, but I love we have them. I really loved our “lateral porch” in our last home and I hope to find ways to create a sensation of similar outdoor sanctuary here.
I am especially excited to accelerate these porches for the summer porch!

Summer is my favorite season here, the weather is absolutely perfect (it is not hot, I really love that!).
Happily I would use a sweater every day if I never have to sweat to take a good walk or work in the patio). It is wonderful to be out here in the summer, so we leave as much as we can.

Dogs love to sit on the porch and take care of fun business in the neighborhood (assume the position of our beautiful Jack), so although we are making a change here in the coming weeks, I will have a place to possess and watch :).

Outdoor spring project #4: plant windows boxes (railing boxes!)
We planted some Bacopa plants in our window/railing boxes recently and just left the False green plants (from Amazon here) instead of adding more spring flowers (at least for now). So simple and easy to take care of :).
The new plants are so small at this time that you really can’t see them 🙂 But they should complete time! We have planted Bacopa for the final plants along with Petunias in recent years and are very simple to grow and do it well.

Outdoor spring project #5: Clean window boxes (railing boxes!)
Before planting, my husband took our window boxes below (These resemble them on Amazon) And he cleaned them very well. We leave them out for the last winters: we can begin to tear them down at the end of autumn, but even when leaving out they still look great. By the way, if you have these and see that they sink at all, he placed a carefully placed screw at the bottom, which easily solved it!

Outdoor spring project #6: paint railings, doors and ornaments
We will have to paint our house at some point soon, this spring I noticed how much it really needs it.
At the beginning of this spring, my husband painted a little to refresh the main door, the railings and the roof of the porch (the color of the paint is Wythe Blue, Benjamin Moore, lightened around 50%) and look good, but there is still much more to do!
I can see that living in this coastal area of the NW coast paints porches and ornaments will be a continuous seasonal task to maintain everything with a fresh and clean appearance. I don’t care about a worn appearance, but I want you to feel careful :).
We also had a lot of seasonal maintenance like that in Seattle, but we didn’t have wooden railings, so I guess we change the gardening work to paint! Ha! There is always something to do, but it’s worth it!

We are learning slowly but happily the ways of taking care of our house and the patio by the sea.
Can you believe that we first look at this house four years ago this July?
We moved during the autumn season four years ago.

Have never He lived any more than six years, sometimes only four! I can’t imagine to move again. We are accommodating and really enjoyed the house and the patio. More projects to come (and are attentive for a new publication in the backyard projects that we have completed during the past year too!
I am very grateful that this is our “home forever: of God, we will have many more years to be ours and we will enjoy being here for a long time!
I will add some sources below to the beautiful porch pieces and some other outdoor items that I love! Do not hesitate to leave a comment if you have questions.
