Favorite house cleaning tips + tools
Many people ask for advice on how I keep our house and clean furniture with dogs. And more recently the question, how we could clean the carpet on which they finnered spilled white paint! What calamity was that! A house with a puppy is fun and messy. How to maintain a perfectly clean The home at all times with a puppy really is not something to talk about (there is no keys here except us!). However, there are some tools, systems and “guidelines” that we have presented during our many years of being owners of dogs (and raising three children) that have helped us maintain our sanity and a sense of sanctuary in our home.
First, allow me to address how we take care of the white paint that finnejan was accidentally removed from the dining room table! It happened late at night and the husband was there to witness it (you can read the whole story here).
This was a brand New carpet that we had just made in our dining room. I had not yet photographed it to Rifle Paper Co. So my husband immediately knew that this was going to be a terrible mistake, ha! I was already deeply sleeping and he didn’t want to wake up to tell me about that :).

Fortunately, he immediately thought to run and grab us Handy Dandy Carpet Cleaner. We used this all the time when Finnegan arrived for the first time to our house and was not yet completely trained to go to the bathroom, so he was very familiar with how well this tool works. But with spilled paint? I was not sure that the carpet was rescued, but this tool worked so well that it cannot even be said that the paint was there.
I am a great believer in finding solutions and being prepared to take care of the specific types of problems that occur at home. Do you know the disorder that drives you crazy or that they happen so often that they make you feel that your home is always a disaster? My cleaning advice is to find a simple solution for each of those problems so that they can take care of them quickly and efficiently.

I learned that cleaning the disorder in progress in the house and ordering must be part of the rhythm of my day and I need tools that are convenient to use.
That said, I do not buy many gadgets or elegant cleaning tools. I see many specialized cleaning tools promoted in social networks that promise a solution for each problem. While they can be tempting and I have some, I find that less really is. I really just need some tools to keep our house clean, so I’ll share you with you.
Here is a list of the cleaning tools that we use regularly in our house and then I will share where we maintain them and why they are convenient.
If you want to feel that your house is clean, focus on the floors! And take care of the superficial disorder.

On our main floor, we use a robot aspiration. My husband loves because he can wander around the house cleaning the floors while we do other things. It makes daily cleaning and dust bunnys so easy. It has a HEPA filter, empty, and you can even program it to go in established times.
We also have a Vertical vacuum with a hose Then you can handle anything with which the robot does not do so well.
He Steam cleaner It is our solution for rapid tapestry cleaning and carpets. We also prefer furniture with fabrics that are lasting and easy to clean.
We avoid chemicals and use Thieves For all types of cleaning (even in our steam cleaner).
I also have This spots cleaner that miracles can also work as necessary. We do not use it so often, but I definitely find that having these solutions by hand and ready to use makes cleaning every day easier and prepares us to solve most occasional disasters that can happen. I want people and pets to enjoy our home, I know we can clean almost anything!
This broom and dust pan It is our favorite, we have a set in our closet of the pantry and another above. A quick scanner of the staircase is one of my favorite ways to keep the house feeling clean! The messy stairs are one of my “pet manias”, with dogs (and a beach nearby) there are always sand, fluff (and although our dogs do not spill) and outdoor elements that are traced. This particular broom and dust pan We get it so much for our children for Christmas and now they love it!
Up, I have found the easiest and most convenient way for me to keep the floors clean is This light vacuum cleaner. I love it, I keep it up, so it is really efficient for me to make regular cleaning in the bathroom, the bedroom and the hall. It easily deals with that fluff, hair or sand that ends in our hard woods and carpets so that they look fresh again (a quick step with This vacuum It really makes the whole room feel much cleaner!).

Join me in Homebody meeting place! I teach rhythms of home and self -care that will help him enjoy taking care of his home (so he also takes care of him).
