How to Book a Cheap Hotel in 2025

As much as I like shelters, there is something pleasant in the luxury of a hotel: the clean room, the comfortable bed, the desk, the iron, the strong shower and the bottled soap to drink (err … I mean loans). They are a quiet and relaxing respite in the world.

But luxury has a price.

The hotels are not cheap and I hate Spend money on a room where I will only be for a few hours. Often, even at my age, I would prefer to stay in a shelter (however, the private room!), What costs less, has more social interaction and does not make you feel like the destiny of the destiny in which you stay. I always feel that the hotels are isolating, like a concrete bubble that keeps you out of the place you are visiting.

That said, the older I know, the more I use hotel points and the more I travel for work, the more I am in hotels, especially if it is a short trip.

I have spent years looking at websites trying to find the best ways to get the best rates in the hotel rooms because the budget traveler in me hates to spend a lot of money. After Covid, hotel prices have increased a lot and it seems that there are less and less bargains these days.

But there are many ways to get a good treatment and accumulate offers in offers to reduce the cost of your room.

Let me show you how.

How to reserve cheap hotels

Here we show you how to find the cheapest hotel in a simple step:

First, go to Google and write where you want to go. For example, “New York City Hotels.”

That’s all. Google will extract the results of all the main reserves websites and will tell you which site is the cheapest. You just go there and reserve your hotel. That is why it is the best reserve site because, instead of searching on each website individually, you can go to Google, find which website has the cheapest rate and book there. Save a lot of time!

Here is a step by step guide:

Click on the “See Hotels” button at the bottom of the first section of results to go to the Google hotel search center.

Then, place your dates and filters to reduce your search until you find a hotel you want in your price range. You can order for lower price and look at the map to book by location. You can even see the typical price trends for your dates by clicking “what you will pay.”

Click the “See prices” button for a hotel and you will be presented all your reserve options. Find the lowest price and go to that website. Keep in mind that the main results are usually advertisements, so it is scrolled down to make sure that no offer is being lost.

Once you have found the lowest price, book on that website!

But before you in fact Reserve the room, there are a couple of other tips you need to know to make sure you get the best possible price:

1. Contact the hotel directly

Find the hotel, call them and ask them to coincide with the offer (they will generally do it, since they save them in commission). If they are a great global brand, the great benefit for direct reserves is that you only get loyalty and status points when you reserve directly, so if you love the points and miles, do not reserve their rooms elsewhere!

2. Use points

The best way to save money in a hotel room is not to have to pay it. Collect hotel points through brand credit cards or transfer them from a chase, capital one, etc., and reserve a free room. Savings thousands and thousands of dollars a year doing this. Here are my favorite hotel cards to start.

3. Use discount rates such as AAA or AARP

If you are part of the AARP or AAA, you can get special rates that are cheaper. Curious fact: anyone can join the AARP. I am a member. They have incredible travel benefits (including offers in hotels and flights of British Airways). It is worth the membership.

4. Use MR.Rebates either Rakuten

If the lowest rate is through an important reserve site such as Booking.com, Expedia or Hotels.com, pass through Mr. Refunds either Rakuten. When using your links, you will get a 1–10% return. It is a small additional savings that can add over time. I never purchase online without going to these sites (they have offers for everything).

5. Reserve a mystery treatment

Both Priceline and Hotear Offer cheaper rates in hotels reserves where you do not get complete reserve details in advance. In Hotwire hot rates and the offers of Priceline’s Express, the general neighborhood will see, as well as the star rating of the property and the comforts offered, but not the exact hotel itself. With the offers of Pricely’s Prickbreakers, one of the three hotels that group will be guaranteed (they simply know which until reserving). You can save 30–60% discount with these offers if you can tolerate a bit of the unknown!

6. Register in the Booking.com loyalty program

Booking.com offers members 10–20% discount on reservations. They definitely helped a lot. Before registering in your loyalty programs before booking with them!

7. Get discount cards

You can book the main hotel cards with hotel cards. Visit a website as Gift from gifts.com For discount cards and use it to book your hotel. (Gift card purchases also count for profits and points status).

8. Buy the reservation of another person with Roomber

Often people cannot go on a trip and cannot cancel the reservation, so instead of losing money, hotels put on these rooms Tenantwhere they sell it with a discount to recover some money. I have never used this website, but I have heard good things about it.

The price of the hotel is much more established than airline prices and tends to fluctuate less. It would not spend hours looking for hotels or days websites that track prices such as people with airline prices. It would happen, at most, 30 minutes to reserve a hotel.

Simply follow the previous steps to get a cheap hotel using my favorite hotel reservations websites (and what has been shown to be the best) that are listed here to get a good treatment and enjoy your trip faster.
